UNFOLDED / DESDOBLADO

Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

UNFOLDED

The head on its own,
and the body elsewhere.

Life unfolded,
the mind light,
the body heavy.

In the clarity
of what is heavy.

That body,
that head,
each one
on its own.

The years
pass,
clarity
of being
older,
looking
through
a body
that is no longer light,
in the prison of the years,
while the head flies
in the world of clarity.

--------

DESDOBLADO

La cabeza por su lado,
y el cuerpo por otro.

Desdoblada la vida,
la mente ligera,
cuerpo pesado.

En la lucidez
de lo pesado.

Ese cuerpo,
esa cabeza,
cada una
por su lado.

Los años
pasan,
lucidez
de ser
mayores,
mirando
a través
de un cuerpo
que ya no es ligero,
en la cárcel de los años,
mientras la cabeza vuela
en el mundo de la lucidez.

My friend, I think many of us begin to understand this tension more with each passing year. The imagination, curiosity, and inner life often feel unchanged, while the body increasingly reminds us of time's passage. This spoke to me in a very human way. Really enjoyed it. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
