Partially in care and receiving daily nurse visits,
Enjoys films but past paying for cinema tickets.
Royal Navy Marine, fought hard for his country,
Des saw all the sights and sounds, sat comfy.
A Heartbeat lost, outlived seafaring peers,
His wife Marjorie, sadly, been gone for years.
No continued recognition, served the time,
Reminiscing with old photos, solo drinking wine.
Another battleship sunk and strategy prevailed,
Not as nimble as before, both legs became frail.
Lived for her, an old man who now didn't care,
Hardened poor soul leaving the atmosphere.
Left in a country feeling barely recognisable,
Medals of Valor, those skills were undeniable.
Passed wondering, where had that time gone?
Was it really his life or just an imagination?
