Choose Your Poison

Fränz Müller

Imagine two glass vials:

one contains the life you’ve had

but never wanted,

the other the life you want to live

but cannot, because by reason of

all propriety and decorum

and delicate sensibility

it is strictly and utterly forbidden.

Which do you choose?

From which would you sip?

One taste from either

and the throat closes

and out go the lights.

The red pill or the blue as for me I'll take the forbidden life. Nicely written

This is a great way to express how the difficulty of choosing, makes the outcome more than the choice itself

Fränz, what a thought-provoking piece. The tension builds so naturally from the opening question that by the end there is no comfortable answer left to reach for. Life wanted and life lived collide head-on here, and the result lingers long after the reading. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
