A sinner’s plea!
I repent, O God, of my every sin,
No joy or laughter dwells within.
I sinned so greatly, now I grieve;
For forgiveness, my life I’d give.
Look down on me, O God, I pray,
Please tell me — is there hope for me today?
O dearest Jesus, at Your feet I fall,
To rise with You, I stand through all.
Your sacrifice has purchased me,
Salvation for us all, and sets me free.
You are my life, my love, my hope,
In You I find my heart’s true scope.
Do not be angry, Lord, though I am weak,
Your love, your forgiveness I truly seek.
Tear out of me all evil, all that’s rotten,
So pure I kneel before You, sins forgotten.
I yearn for my soul to be made clean,
With faith and love to welcome Christ, my King.
Show me the way, O God, is my heartfelt plea,
And do not turn Your anger on me.
