Tears of War

War sets the world aflame; the sky and earth in terror shake,
People weep, homes crumble down, roads and rivers bleed in its wake.

Those intoxicated by power, who raise their weapons high with pride,
Receive from history’s unforgiving hand nothing but scorn worldwide.

Fiery missiles roar aloud; cities burn and villages flame,
Within frightened children’s souls, endless earthquakes stake their claim.

Tiny hearts hide in their mothers’ arms, their faces gripped by fear,
Children and the elderly alike seek peace and struggle to persevere.

Greedy for thrones, the covetous beat the deafening drums of war,
Yet their thunderous turmoil shatters upon peace’s mighty shore.

Awakened humanity rises at last and tears down falsehood’s wall,
Truth’s light blossoms forth as blood-stained flowers courageously stand tall.

The definition of war: a peaceful river with both banks torn and cruel,
War is always wrong— a budding flower fallen too soon.

যুদ্ধের জ্বলে আগুন, কাঁপে আকাশ কাঁপে ধরাতল,

কাঁদে মানুষ, ভাঙে ঘর- রক্তে ভাসে পথ ও জল।

ক্ষমতার নেশায় যারা তোলে- অস্ত্র- অহংকার,

ইতিহাসের কঠিন হাতে তারা পায়- শুধু ধিক্কার।

গর্জে ওঠে অগ্নিবাণ, জ্বলে নগর- জ্বলে গ্রাম,

ভীত শিশুর অন্তরাত্মায়- ভূমিকম্প অবিরাম।

মায়ের বুকে লুকিয়ে মুখ- আতঙ্কভরা ছোট প্রাণ,

খোঁজে শান্তি, চায় বাঁচতে, শিশু আর বৃদ্ধ আপ্রাণ।

সিংহাসনের লোভে লোভী- বাজায় রণদামামা,

শান্তির ঢেউয়ে ভেঙে পড়ে- বজ্রাঘাতসম হাঙ্গামা।

জেগে ওঠে শান্ত মানব- ভাঙে মিথ্যার ঐ দেয়াল,

ফুটে সত্যের আলো- রক্তঝরা পুষ্পরা ধরে হাল।

যুদ্ধের সঙজ্ঞা, শান্ত নদে- অশান্ত উভয় কূল,

যুদ্ধ মানেই ভুল, ঝরে পড়া অঙ্কুরিত মুকুল।।
