In layers of reality
There's illusive totality
What's apparent in view
Feels entire and true
But we see just a sliver
Of planes in a picture
With the spectrum of light
Confining our sight
Just one frame of reference
Awareness through preference
Where we place attention
Dictates perception
Our scope at this scale
Yields a cosmic veil
Dark matter and holes
Stars playing their roles
Their dust drenched within
Our cells bagged in skin
They still keep us alive
Unseen, but they thrive
As above, is inside
Worlds seen in divide
The unseen is unknown
Reality hates to be shown

- Comment from author about the poem: wrote this one while thinking about the layers that make up the micro-verse, the universe, and inner-verse. About how we cannot see above or below our perception, and even the sliver we do see is filtered. Reality is hiding! Perhaps all these 2D slices of awareness together function as one multidimension being. At least I'd like to think so
