Smiles and Rainbows

Michael A. McGuire

Sing to me the sweet song of summer!
Call to my mind the youthful abandon
that accompanied me there.

The breeze softly swaying the trees to
the melody of morning; with the Sun
brightly inviting my senses to the
miracles of Life so fair.

Let's go dancing in the meadows and
sleep in the fields; caress the day
with singing and laughter and fling to
the soft night all our cares.

We can work magic, you know, with our
mind as a child's. Regain consciousness
and begin anew.

Flush all fears away with salvation's tears
and smile forever like the morning dew!

At the close of day, say a prayer; beg
forgiveness for being blind.  Beauty
and glory forever, amen; thank you Lord
for this moment in time!

However ages the flesh, our Spirit lives
on; and through the eyes of this child...
...a brand new day is about to dawn!
