Must only absence remind you of presence?
Must only war remind you of peace?
Must you only find me when I'm lost?
Must you crave freedom only when seized?
Must only reason justify emotion?
Must only rhyme define a poem?
Must only experience count as a notion?
Must only a place refer to home?
Must I break before you notice?
Must I cut to prove I bled?
And just to prove I'm not okay,
Must every thought be said?
Must every tear be shed from the eye?
Must I kill myself till I feel alive?
Must every breakdown need a why?
Must I rely on fantasy to survive?
Can we go against the rules just one time?
Because sometimes I really don't know if I'm fine
And when words don't work and I can't explain
Can you please just hug me instead of complain?

Opposites to enhance noticing their opposite. Very nicely written it juxtaposes such dualities and thereby asks if one can exist without the other or if one must experience one to feel the other. Well done
Thanks
You are very welcome
Indeed, we rarely value things and people as long as they are with us. We do when they are gone...
Exactly
Sylva, the final lines stayed with me. The longing to be met with understanding rather than explanation feels deeply human. Sometimes there really aren't words for what we're carrying. Beautifully expressed, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you 💫
