Gun Shot

Anthony Hanible

Gun shot

A star collapsing

Into its own shadow

A crack

The sky’s mask

Splitting at the seam

Smoke

A gray serpent

Curling around a stolen moment

Silence

A stunned cathedral

Missing one stained glass soul

And the world

Tilted

Like a scale

That just lost

Its final feather

This is indeed a poetic description of an assassination and the death of something noble. Well said and a fave
