Where Are You From?

GenXer Sharon 🙏🍀

A question I’ve been asked most in my life. It wasn’t until recently I realized; “you’re not answering this right.” A question one thinks it’s about where you live. Is it though? Do you understand what its meaning is? I am from my Father. He calls me His daughter, His beloved. I’m no longer bound to past mistakes for I am forgiven by The Almighty One above. I am from God. Who died for my sins and rose again. He saved my very life from paths of self destruction. I am from the Holy Spirit; who leads and guides my steps. I am His alone; this I shan’t forget. I am from a love that I never knew before. Unconditional; compassionate; yet disciplines just the same both now and forever more. I am from a counselor; a healer; who slowly mends my once broken heart. A process I try to rush at times; It’s His timing I’m learning. The hardest part. I am a woman of God; a woman who loves her Father more than words can say; it’s a love that grows deeper with each passing day. Where are you from? A question I now fully comprehend; I am from my Heavenly Father; who is making me a much better woman.

Sharon, thank you for this heartfelt piece. I especially appreciate how it moves from identity into relationship...not defining yourself by a place or a past, but by the One who continues to shape and guide you. There is a great deal of gratitude and hope woven throughout. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
