Times Square Musings

Fränz Müller

So many people

so unawares;

crowd-sourced consumption

with the shallowest of cares!

The bright lights will blind you

to the suffering and trials

that shuffle on by

all the selfies and smiles.

Can we not stop and see

what our leaders have done?

Shall we put down our phones?

there’s a fight to be won!

So care for the widow

the stranger, the poor

and help out the homeless

and open a door

to a house, and a home

and a cycle that breaks;

your action starts now

as they’re raising the stakes!

    Well written. Your poem provokes self-reflection and inspires action to help those in need.

    Fränz, what a powerful piece. I appreciate that it doesn't stop at frustration or criticism but moves toward action. The call to care for the widow, the stranger, the poor, and the homeless gives the poem both heart and purpose. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

    Democracy, don't believe the hype.
    Soon as the power starts, the people are forgotton.
