Remember This Face

Anthony Hanible

You thought I would vanish

A ghost in your past

A chapter you skimmed

And turned over too fast

But storms learn your footsteps

And truth leaves a trace

So when lightning exposes you

Remember this face

I rose from the wreckage

You swore I’d become

A fire that answers

To nobody’s drum

So when you hear thunder

That won’t be replaced

Know strength has a name

Remember this face
