Sign
Glows yellow
A soft
Alarm
A warning
Posed
To keep
You
From harm
But warnings
Speak deeper
Than tiles
And shine
They echo
The places
You slip
In your mind
The floor
Is a mirror
A slick
Thin truth
Reflecting
The fractures
You’ve carried
Since youth
You step
Because stepping
Is how
You grow
Even when
Every
Bright surface
Says no
A slide
A jolt
A sudden
Swerve
Life teaching
Balance
You don’t
Deserve.
Yet still
You rise
Reset
Your stance
Turning
Each stumble
Into
A chance
The sign
Keeps shining
A symbol
A lore
Caution
It whispers
Your heart’s
A wet floor
So move
with courage
Move
With care
Knowing
The danger
Is always
There
But so
Is the strength
To walk
Once more
To claim
Your footing
Can cross
That floor
