When politicians speak
I never give them an ear
Because life has taught me
It's mostly lies I'm going to hear
Promises are made
But rarely ever kept
When it comes to misleading us
They are very adept
I don't care what jurisdiction
City, county, state or federal
As far as I'm concerned
None of them are ever on the level
It should be a crime
When a politician tells a lie
But then again that's the way
They all seem to get by
I know some will disagree
With the things I say
But you see that's all right
Differing opinions is still the american way
