Where your voice still lives

lorena1

There are silences
heavier than words.

There are people
who, even after they're gone,
still live
in every corner of your heart.

Sometimes I smile,
not because the pain is gone,

but because I know
you would want me to be happy,

even though there are nights
when I still cry
because I miss you so much.

How unfair it is to grow up
without being able to tell you
who I've become.

How unfair it is to look at the sky
and long for a hug
that can never return.

Because some people
never truly leave.

They remain in our memories,

in every heartbeat,

and in that part of the heart
that will never
be whole again.
