Memories of Yesterday By Richard Martin 456
My thoughts are filled with memories of yesterday,
Times when I was young, and filled with youth and play.
But I can’t pick and choose the memories I’d like to keep,
I’d like to erase the memories that sometimes make me weep.
Some of those old memories bring a smile to my face,
And some old memories I’d give anything if I could erase.
Now that I’m old, there’s no new memories to make,
I dwell on the old ones, and that may be a mistake.
I don’t want to live in the past, but there’s no future for me,
I live on the old memories, that only I can see.
So I hold on the those old memories, there part of my life,
Memories of better times, times of joy and times of strife.

Nostalgia is the theme of this piece and I can feel it. But no matter how old a person is they are never too old to make new memories. Well written
I agree with sorenbarrett 💫
