The Industry (Part.3)

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Humiliation, degradation, sex for a record deal,

Contracts inked at 3am, the young ones squeal,

Signed your soul and life away, how does it feel?

Suicidal deaths and found in hotel rooms alone,

Is that Eminem or some sort of robotic clone?

Coolio, silenced for speaking on adrenochrome.

How many celebrities were mentioned in those files?

Public appearances at award shows with all smiles,

Remember the vows and oaths on chequerboard tiles.

What happened with Robert Johnson at the crossroads?

Warlocks and witches spellbinding civilians and licking toads,

More revelations will be coming soon, uncovered bucketloads.

Dunno, can't tell if some celebrities are human or robots - or wooden acting. lol.

It is the clever linking of the distant past with the present that gets the fave in this poem of rhyme that seems almost rap. Its style lends it to its subject matter. So nicely done

Shaun, this certainly doesnโ€™t pull any punches. The whole piece comes at the reader with a barrage of questions and suspicions, creating a feeling of unease that builds as it goes. One intense ride, my friend. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›
