The heart thrived on hate
Before it learned to love,
Hating the rights of the right
Uplifting ragged riches
In black and white,
Everyone shone so bright.
Then color came and ruined the eyes,
Like Adam and Eve, seeking paradise
I wish the rain would wash away the cones
Of the eyes
So it might learn to love, not to despise
