IN POETRY KEPT

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

You did not see me
Glass before screen
My shadow disguised
Heartbroken, half dreamed
My eyes tearidden
My soul outstretched
The rhythm of life
In poetry kept.

An angels pathway
Hidden from view
Wearing words as a cloak
Each letter a clue
To the riddle of suffering
By wayside to fall
Loves unequal sword
A hearbeats recall.

The stranger who shuffles
Away from the crowd
Aged and forgotten
Wearing the shroud
That covers injustice
Wide and for all
Thankful for words
You never witnessed my fall.

Good write N. In poetry kept - the notebook you kept, to write poems in while waiting for that bus?! lol.

Not seen for who one is misunderstood is the essence of this poem that I get. Nicely written in good rhyme and meter. Well done

Probably top tier fave of your work to date. Delectable.🕊️🙏🤩

Norman, what struck me most is the contrast between what is visible and what remains hidden. The shadow, the cloak, the stranger moving away from the crowd...all of it builds toward that final acknowledgment that so much suffering goes unwitnessed. Yet through the words, something important is still shared. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

yes indeed - so much grief goes unwitnessed and not cared for - what you have written is so true..
