And Motherโ€™s Too!

GenXer Sharon ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ€

Mother’s are the very heart of the family. She’s the nurturer, the one who cares for the house; she kisses boo boos away! A mother’s love and presence is just as essential as dad’s. Any problem you have big or small; with her it’s not so bad. She’ll sacrifice everything she’s got just so you have a fighting chance in this world. It doesn’t matter if you’re her precious son or her darling little girl. Her acts of service are just one of many ways she’ll show you her love. While reading your favorite bedroom story, she’s praying privately to God above. To make all these little moments last throughout the years; she knows in her heart of hearts you’ll be leaving the nest at some point and yes this brings her to tears. She’ll cook with you and for you all while memorizing the details of your face; holding onto to memories of your neck hugs; ๐Ÿค— a sweet and precious embrace. She certainly will make mistakes and check in on you too much; don’t disregard this act as it’s her way to show you more love. A mother may not be a perfect TV character; but she loves you to the moon and back always and forever. She will tell you when you’re wrong and commend you for standing up for those without a voice; she’ll remind you in this life you have a choice; don’t live today as if your mom doesn’t exist; bring your pain to God and ask Him for the strength and courage to forgive; forgive her her mistakes and maybe someday try and let her in your world again; mother’s are important too; she’s more than just some friend.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Again true abusive parenting is not what Iโ€™m talking about; Iโ€™m talking about those who try hard and fail but try harder and love deeper.

A tribute to mothers and their love. Well written it reminds us of a mother's role in a family and her indispensability well done.
