[Intro: short, dark low bass, no long build-up]
[Verse 1: driving rhythm, restrained vocal]
Gates open wide on every side,
Old temples breathe behind the smoke.
Stone altars drink what sinners hide,
While folded hands await the word.
[Verse 1 continues: drums tighter, guitars enter]
They call themselves the loved of gods,
They look from imagined heights,
Their vows grow cold amid the rites,
And whispers crawl through crowded aisles.
[Chorus: stronger vocal, catchy but dark, heavy drums]
No vow shall make them just,
No scourge shall make them clean.
Beneath the resin fire wakes
The dark unutterable mystery.
[Verse 2: keep the drive, slightly more ritual atmosphere]
From woodland lairs the bogeys rise,
With rustic gifts and candles pale.
They honour Nature’s living realm,
Where ancient dread kneels down to dream.
[Verse 2 continues: backing whispers, rising tension]
The Earth uplifts her rugged brow,
Her wax-lit prayers touch the sky,
And every creature, hill and deep,
Falls briefly into hallowed calm.
[Chorus: heavier, more urgent]
No vow shall make them just,
No scourge shall make them clean.
Beneath the resin fire wakes
The dark unutterable mystery.
[Bridge: darker, lower vocal, marching drums, no slowdown]
Black steeds draw out the Shadow-King,
His dim car rolls through condemned lands.
He lifts the sceptre, serpents coil,
And terror shakes the trembling realms.
[Short instrumental break: distorted bass, cold electronic pulse]
[Final Chorus: full power, layered vocals, dramatic but not operatic]
No throne shall make him whole,
No spell shall make him free.
The underworld obeys his voice,
But not the final mystery.
[Outro: repeat last line once, hard stop]
But not the final mystery.
