Time

Cindy

I am time; you can’t escape,

Only borrow, give, and take.

Countless seconds each pass by;

Catch and chase, or watch me fly.

I am time; your friend and foe.

I’ve seen you live and change and grow.

I take the things you like and love,

And weave them into thoughts thereof.

Use me wisely, oh human soul,

For I am strict within my role.

I leave regret to those around

Who keep their lives to money bound.

I am time; with knowledge vast,

I hold your future and your past.

So listen to me when I say:

Use me as if it’s your last day.

So well written this poem takes on the personification of time. Well rhymed and metered it flows well and tells its tale of time as a strict guardian. Well done and a fave

The clock is always ticking, and sadly it will still be ticking when you're gone.
This is why life is so precious, and every day is a day to play.

I appreciate your comment, and yes we can't control time. We can only control the actions and life lived throughout it.
