She is nine
A girl with fringes and a beautiful smile.
She is thief, they say
For she stole a toffee
kept for guests visiting the new born.
They drag old stories into her present stories
Of which she knows nothing
For she is only nine.
They laugh at her, mock and tease
"Take her to the psychiatrist", they say
While she is playing with her dolls
Not knowing what is happening
For she is only nine.

A charming poem of social commentary where one extrapolates the meaning to be that we compare ourselves or others of different abilities to some where this is not applicable. Well done
