GENEROUS HEART

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Your generous heart
In twilight speaks
With silent words
As night it creeps
Your hollowed face
Your weakened smile
I sit with you
One more time.

Elastic moments
Now are stretched
To accommodate
The hours left
We travelled together
Now crossroad reached
As you depart
I beseech.

Take good care
Of this generous heart
As into darkness
To depart
Upon its journey
So near so far
So close so distant
A sparkling star.

The generous actually are the ones that keep the world spinning.πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

Joint travelers in time, a lovely write that puts us on the same path through life, before and after

Good write N. We're feeling very un-generous sentiments towards that bus not arriving. lol.

Norman, this really touched me. The journey from twilight to the image of a sparkling star creates a graceful farewell filled with love rather than despair. It's a poignant reminder that even in parting, our care for one another continues. Beautifully done, my friend. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

I really enjoyed reading your poem. The heart, rather than words, does the communicating, which I found especially moving. "Elastic moments / Now are stretched / To accommodate / The hours left" is an excellent metaphor. The final stanza is deeply touching. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece.
