At seventeen hundred feet the waters pressed,
The diving bell was wrapped in silent dread,
When something vast approached, a shadowed guest.
It circled slow, with fins that arched and spread,
Four webbed limbs stirred the black abyss with grace,
And bull-like eyes in shifting darkness bled.
Its seahorse head revealed a jagged face,
With tusks like barracuda’s, sharp and long,
No scales, just leather skin in ocean’s space.
The divers watched—no scream, no prayer, no song,
Just breathless awe at nature’s hidden keep,
Where monsters glide, forgotten by the throng.
Then back it sank into the endless deep,
And left behind a vision none could claim,
Save whispers haunting silence where they sleep.

An intriguing write of a reported creature unknown to man sounding mythical yet reported to have been seen
Matthew, this really pulled me in. The atmosphere is thick with mystery from the very first line, and I found myself holding my breath alongside the divers. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
