A river cuts through rock not because of strength but because of persistence

Demar Desu

we must understand

sigh… you cannot get good ends

with bad intentions…

You America!

sigh… you confuse me sometimes

you tell me I’m free!

no! no royalty!

every human is equal

ah what does this mean?

sigh… one more haiku

I will give you the meaning

opportunity…

  • Comment from author about the poem: Happy Independence Day to one of the greatest countries in history… being an American myself I can be conflicted due to the racism and discrimination… but when I look back at the history of those who had to fight that racism and discrimination it wells me with hope, love and justice. Saints and Sinners… in America they’re the same. These poems can be read as 4 separate poems with the same title or just one title and one poem. Thank you guys I love you and celebrate safely out there.

This series of senryu was quite clever Demar sending its message through their linkage. Very nicely done and a fave

Demar, this really made me think. I like how each haiku builds on the last until the final one quietly brings everything together. Thoughtful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
