Rolling Waves

E.J. Waling

Rolling waves.
Massaging
shores,
shaping.
One
after
the next.
Pushing
forth.
Unyielding.
Subtle
at first,
yet
persistent.
Changing,
smoothing
what’s
left.
Storm clouds
approaching.
Swells
thickening.
Waves
enlarging.
Now
crashing.
Relentless
onslaught.
No defense.
Obliterating
all around.
Unrecognizable.
Invasion.
New
reality
arrived.

These one word lines leave the sensation of a rush as wave after wave beats against the rocks. Nicely worded

The metaphorical sea becomes a force of inevitable change, culminating in a "New / Reality," one that mirrors the ongoing reality of our lives.
