Let Freedom Ring

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Tristan πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
i wanted to sing
in the state of
let freedom ring,
but that sadly

was not a thing,

for my song—
different—brings
a love for all
of humanity

of thee i sing.
but i came late
to understanding
that in this state

it is not freedom
that is free,
but the freedom
to conform
you demand
of me.

now

you’ve learned that
will never, ever be.

Unfortunately this poem is all too true. It rings of what little truth remains in a land of the free to comply and no privacy a fave my friend

Thank you so much, Soren. Sadly, I think that\'s exactly the tension many of us are feeling right now. Freedom loses something essential when conformity becomes the price of belonging. I truly appreciate the thoughtful read and the fave, my friend. πŸ””πŸ–€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ™

Good write T. And one says - we knows him - let spinach ring! lol.

                • Tristan Robert Lange

aha...thank you, Orchi! 🀣 Popeyeus Glug Maximus Solus wholeheartedly approves this...

                  glug.

What was that? Must be hearing things. Let's try this again:

Popeyeus Glug Maximus Solus wholeheartedly approves this...

                  glug...

                  ...age.

                  πŸ˜‘

Let spinach glug indeed! 🀣 Always appreciate you, my friend. πŸ””πŸ₯¬πŸ–€πŸ™

'Spinach Rules OK' is his slogan! lol.

                    • Tristan Robert Lange

                      Indeed...all his! LOL!

I'm right beside you dear Tristan. 🌹

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much, Teddy. That means more than you know. Knowing you're standing beside me in the spirit of the poem is all I could ask for. Grateful to have you right beside me, my friend. πŸŒΉπŸ””πŸ–€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ™

'Freedom to conform'. Never a better point made. Each and every word has many different connotations attached to it, and each should be clearly defined, as you have here with 'freedom'. And to rant on a little - This is where I stumble when reading poetry at times.
Anyway, thanks for a good 'un, Tristan.

                        • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much, Dave. I'm really glad "freedom to conform" resonated with you, because that was the central tension I wanted to explore. Words like "freedom" carry so much weight, and too often we assume everyone means the same thing by them. I truly appreciate your thoughtful read, and thanks for the kind words, my friend. πŸ””πŸ–€πŸ™
