This is a topic I’ve been meaning to write about for quite some time. It holds dear to my heart as this story is one of many; including mine. There were no easy answers when I was nineteen. Some opinions were kind; while others were quite mean. I wasn’t with God then as I am today. So when I found out I was pregnant I began to pray. I had never read the Bible until about three years ago. All I did as a teen was pray; and I’m sure my fear would show. At nineteen I wasn’t prepared for the journey of becoming a mother. I only knew within my heart of hearts that I was going to keep him or her. At nineteen you think you’re prepared and that you will do so much better than your parents ever did. Never realizing all the while you’ve been caring some baggage deep within. When you become a young mom you tend to parent from a place of hurt; hoping and praying all the while but never going back to church. You do your very best with the hand you have been dealt; grateful for those who stood beside you and offered support and or help. My point in this writing is just to say; when you become pregnant as a teen; lean on God to guide your way. Before you make a decision that will affect your mind, heart, body and soul. Please turn to God for guidance and allow His strength, wisdom, and grace through you flow.

- Comment from author about the poem: ๐ Being a young mother wasnโt easy. Itโs still not easy all these years later either; just grateful for the opportunity to be a mom even though I didnโt and still donโt get everything right all the time.

Every child needs a Father, and he can be found in a mother.
Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto him: for such is the kingdom of God.
