You call me poetry,
What if you lose the words to read?
You mend my scars with care,
But what if they persist to bleed?
Forever, a promise we made
Yet what if it fractures and breaks?
In your heart, I find my space,
But what if it begins to ache?
You name me your guiding moon,
Yet each night, I dim and fade,
For though I brighten your path,
What if you seek shelter in shade?
You claim I am home to you,
But what if a garden you chase?
People often opt for finer things,
then what if i am replaced?
These 'what ifs' haunt my thoughts,
Though I pretend to disagree,
For all these what ifs leaves my mind,
when you say, you love me.

No more conditional but now certain changes the mood. Nicely written
