People can change.
They evolve with every dawn,
Shifting, growing, becoming new.
The ancient saying—that a leopard cannot change its spots—
Does not apply to souls made in His image.
Nor can we claim an old dog cannot learn,
For grace rewrites what once seemed fixed.
Like time itself, we press forward,
Transforming in seconds, minutes, and hours.
What once was broken can bloom again;
Yesterday’s shadows yield to tomorrow’s light.
Never give up on people.
Hold space for their becoming.
You may be joyfully surprised
By the beauty that unfolds.

I yearn for the truth to align with what I've written, but deep within, I know it's not my reality. Yet I acknowledge the resilience of the person who endured amid turmoil, not because it was safe, but because it was the only life I knew during that chapter. My strength was tested by the prolonged verbal abuse that I faced, and I'm not overstating it. However, I now recognize that people's actions, though hurtful, don't define my worth. Yet they do not change, trust me.
