An Understanding Heart

        Sometimes all a person needs is a listening ear and an understanding heart. Life can really hit hard at times; what builds resilience in one human; has the power to tear another human apart. True; we are all different and handle life’s challenges uniquely. Maybe when you make it over your mountain, you can then share your story. A listening ear and an understanding heart has the capacity to save one’s life. You just never know how deep the darkness is in another person’s mind. We are called to letting our lights shine as a flashlight for one who is hurting. To keep our hearts soft; prevent them from hardening. Some may not be willing to listen to all you have to say; I myself am still learning how this is free will at play. A listening ear and an understanding heart for when one has the best news about their day? This in and of itself has the potential to bless us in some way. Maybe next time someone tries to share some thoughts about his or her day with you; listen rather than discouraging him or her; and maybe you’ll gain some insight or learn something new.
