Leave me alone;

ꜱʏʟᴠᴀ

Leave me alone,

Just don’t leave me lonely

When I’m lost, don’t call my name,

I’m so astray, and I’m ashamed

I wanna know, when I’m not close,
Do you love me all the same?

The silence knows me better than you,

Wrapping me in its wordless comfort,

Am I still worthy of love from you,
If It’s become my resort?

Don’t leave me, Don’t let me leave,

Remind me of what I believe,

But when I’m gone, don’t look for me

Just let me know you remember me

Hear me in the echoes,
Think of me when it rains,

See me in the shadows,

And in your heart’s remains,

Sit with me under the silent, moonlit sky,

Listen to me, just don’t tell me not to cry.

Just don't let me forget, don't forget me,

Leave me alone, just don’t leave me lonely.

Sylva, this really touched me. "Listen to me, just don't tell me not to cry" especially resonated, and the closing refrain brings the whole poem home so gently. We all need those moments when someone can honor our need for space without letting us feel forgotten. Beautiful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

This poignant verse beautifully captures the fragile tension between craving solitude and the desperate need to remain tethered to love. Nice poem Sylvia!
