It isn’t hard to explain
You do my head in
There, can I make it any more plain
You dress like a man
Make love like the dead
Does anything else need to be said
So, without further ado
I say goodbye from me to you
Okay well said
Here she comes
Right, go for it
Darling, darling, you look great
New dress, suits your hair
Let’s go to lunch
Bottle of champagne
Let's just celebrate us
What the hell is wrong with you
You're like one who flew over the cuckoo
Just spit it out
Darling, there’s something I have to say
Let’s get married today
What are you saying, have you lost the plot
It’s dumping day, not love me nots
Now be a man
Darling, I would just like to say
Don’t say anything Paul, I’m dumping you, goodbye
What, you can’t just dump me, you need a build up
It’s dump protocol
Come back
I need to tell you something
Come back, don’t go……………………

Very moving, Paul ๐๏ธ๐
She never came back
Paul, what a hilarious piece. ๐ "It's dump protocol" was the moment that really landed for me, and from there it just kept getting better. The back-and-forth feels delightfully chaotic, right up to that desperate final plea. Great job, my friend. ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ
She married that other guy, that'll teach her.
The poem explores the complexities of a romantic relationship, particularly the tension between love and breakup. It captures the chaotic emotions and miscommunication that can arise when one partner is ready to take a significant step, like marriage, while the other is preparing to end the relationship.
He was getting there, slowly. lol
Funny how we all get trapped in the expectations we have and the habits we form. Well done my friend
We're all basket cases.
Indeed tis true
Thereโs a sharp comic rhythm here, where contradiction and chaos collide like two people speaking completely different languages.
Beneath the humor is a familiar human messโpride, fear, and the desperate need to say the right thing too late.
Yeah, he was desperately looking for the moment when she stole it. lol
The perplexities of a relationship which is not in a steady state. Certain exit strategies which leave one feeling both rational and righteous seem to have been short circuited. Life becomes chaotic in its complexity..... or something....
Write a play, Paul.
He should have just texted.
Would need to look how plays were wrote before attempting one.
Something to think about, any suggestions.
Dunno wot this 'ere texting is - please don't blind me with science
Yours to find out - read, watch, study....
