Petrification

Fränz Müller

Eyes slowly open

the senses just reel

that uneasy sensation

within that you feel;

as the cursed sun rises

a realization dawns;

you stifle a scream

betwixt all the yawns.

Another fresh horror

another new day

that you would, if you could

just wish it away.

    Nicely written in good rhyme and meter it has an appealing flow to it and the content is about a feeling that most have had before an uneasiness that seems to have no reason or cause but is identifiable and present. Well done

    Fränz, this is delightfully grim. The rhythm keeps it light while the humor grows darker with each stanza, and by the end I couldn't help but smile at the shared misery of greeting another fresh horror...another new day. Great write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

    An excellent and relatable poem, that for me undeniably strikes too close to home. We will all lose the war with Time. In my personal struggle circumstance has conspired to inflict me with Photophobia. Daytime no longer holds any particular joy and is yet another foe I must add to an ever growing list. A poem to remember. Bravo Zulu.
