The first aid kit
Made for moments when you say “Oh sh*t”
A band-aid for a scrape
Ointments and surgical tape
It can fix all sorts of things
Cuts, rashes, stings
Too bad it can’t fix a broken heart
Or stop time and restart
At least it can stop me from bleeding

Clever a poem of metaphor where the real is mended to the metaphorical.
Thank you Soren!
You are most welcome
What a heartfelt piece, Allie. The everyday simplicity of the first aid kit makes the emotional turn feel all the more powerful. We can patch up so many physical hurts, yet the ones we canβt see often take the longest to mend. Beautifully written, my friend. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
