The dream of meeting

The Gladden Scribbles

I dream of meeting my gran,

And the multitude of men beneath our feet.

I know it's God's future plan,

But I still wish for us to meet.

I dream of meeting Tajudeen,

And our mates who have gone to sleep.

I know they live where I've not been,

But our memories are forever mine to keep.

I dream of meeting my siblings,

Who fell asleep before my birth.

I know they dwell with the celestial beings,

But they were real blessings to this earth.

I dream of meeting my Paul,

And the saints who have crossed life's stream.

I know they stay in God's holy hall,

And watch me from light agleam.

I dream to lie among the forgotten sons,

And the lasses who no longer toil.

I know they are the forgotten ones,

But I wish to lie with them beneath the soil.

I dream to dream no more fruitless dreams,

When the day ceases to lighten my way.

I know I may wake to meet the One who redeems,

As the night hide

s my shame beneath the clay.
