A reflexive clawing strike from a raw wound probed
Spring action of a trap, cat's stepped on tail brings claws disrobed
A barbed wire line of demarcation in crimson lines drawn
Hiss of rage fangs unsheathed, all close are enemy until they are gone
Autonomic reaction, no guilt, blame or shame
Just nervous firing from a brain to an object with no name

    Defence mechanisms are there for a reason. Too bad they are mostly seen in unflattering light and rightly so. Much enjoyed. 🙏🕊️
