Funny tricks of time!
Day to day feels just the same,
Now I look back, and it’s all changed.
Time flies by ever so quickly,
And getting older is so scary!
I don’t wanna meet my older self,
Take me back to when I was 12
But the clocks still going,
Tick, tick, tick…
Said goodbye to some friends,
Another year comes to end
Now my future’s getting closer,
And I guess I’m getting older…
I don’t want it all to change,
But where's the fun in staying the same?
I’m scared to leave it all behind,
But there’s still so much left to find,
Just yesterday, I was eight,
Now it’s my fourteenth birthdate…
Funny tricks of time!

A lovely poem Sylva of how time flies by and how change is inevitable wanted or not. It gets faster the older we get. A fave
I was eight, fifty seven years ago.
The thing I noticed with aging is - you get past worrying.

Sylva, this really touched me. There's something so honest about looking forward and backward at the same time...wanting to hold onto childhood while wondering what comes next. Beautifully heartfelt, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Remember, age is just a number.
Though fourteen is double digits, and before you know it, twenty is round the corner.
