The Dawn of Dreams

Michael A. McGuire

I embrace the dawn with a smile come
morning and ride the Sun until last
light.

Every breath of fresh air fills my
being with fire and that energy guides
me on an endless flight.

Learning to appreciate the simple
pleasures of Life takes time and letting
go of pain from the past.

It's so easy to give in to all those
bad memories and forsake tomorrow, but
welcome the future with all of its dreams
and promises, and true happiness will eventually
come, and last!

No constrictions or weight will I bear
as I soar through the air, guiding the
Sun with its reins.

My body does not burn, for it is strength that
I have learned; never again will my soul live
in vain!

Such a bright light in this poem where free wheeling merges with meaning and purpose. A lovely poem with deep meaning and existential strength. Some great lines
"I embrace the dawn with a smile come
morning and ride the Sun until last
    light."
    Lovely

Appreciate it! I tried to balance the dark with the uplifting to prove that Hope still persists.

I wrote all these poems over 35-40 years ago and am getting them out there one day at a time because that's this website's
limit, but that's ok because it's uncensored and non-judgmental. Tried other sites and couldn't get my longer, darker poems to post.

You are most welcome Michael. Please don't abandon the site for I love your poems, but there is another site All Poetry that has no limit on the number of poems you can post in a day and does not censor. Just a suggestion if you wish more rapid postings, or do as others do here and post multiple poems under one entry but I will warn you you will get fewer readers doing it this way.
