Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:
Read π, Write βοΈ, Rise π , Realize π€―.

summer night breeze flows
a click, a spark, the flame lights
draw slow, inhale—hold.

I like your play on words and imagery very clever and brings a peaceful picture of simple relaxation and happiness. I'm not a smoker though, I feel this could be a very nice Cuban. πΉ
Thank you so much, Teddy! Iβm not a smoker either, though I used to be...but itβs complicated because, as a medical cannabis patient, Iβm still toking. π€£π€·ββοΈ A fine Cuban fits this summer-night moment beautifully...that quiet pause when everything slows down. Iβm glad the peace reached you, my friend! ππ₯ππ
The action, the reaction, a flash and moment in time expanded. Well written my friend what is obvious is not always so and with that the high could be just high living or spending. I have smoked a seventy five dollar cigar before and the aroma leaves one high.
Exactly, Soren! I wanted the moment to remain open enough for each reader to bring their own indulgence to it. At seventy-five dollars, I imagine the price alone could make someone lightheaded! π€£ I sure hope it was one amazing cigar...some of them truly are! Also, for some reason, I now have Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar" playing in my mind! π€£ Much appreciated, my friend. ππ₯ππ
My pleasure my friend
This piece draws you in as the smoke itself inhaled
Absolutely, Norman! The brief scene invites the reader inward, pauses everything for a single breath, then leaves them suspended there. Much appreciated, my friend! ππ₯ππ
always welcome my friend
I love these few lines that add a little click and spark to life !
Thank you so much, Lorenz! Sometimes one quiet ritual is enough to make an ordinary evening glow. Much appreciated, my friend! ππ₯ππ
Followed by cough, splutter, yuk! lol. Popeye never smokes. Too busy with spinach. heehee.
Not so fast, Orchi! Olβ TomΓ‘s has photographs of P. Solus carrying a corncob pipe behind the spinach warehouse. The evidence is mounting...and so is the smoke, which, I must admit, smells very...well...herbal! LOL! ππ₯ππ
The days when you could smoke and be sophisticated.
Sadly this pleasure comes with a health warning now.
Cigars, cigarettes, all taxed to the hilt.
Can't even get high now, what happened out there.
Paul, every pleasure now arrives with a warning label, a tax bill, and someone standing nearby to disapprove! As for the final problem...Iβm still managing rather well. Come over here to New Jersey for a visit, we'll treat you kindly...for a price! ππ¨ π€£ππ₯ππ
Oh, to be young again. Good write
Indeed, my friend...though a warm night and the right state of mind can make youth feel wonderfully close again. Much appreciated! ππ₯ππ
Very discriptive. Good Write.
Thank you, Kevin! Glad these few lines brought the moment to life, my friend! ππ₯ππ
mmm⦠summer
Exactly, Arqios...best enjoyed slowly! ππ₯ππ
Yes!
This brings back memories. Nicely written Tristan.
- Syd π
Thanks so much, Syd! Glad these few lines carried you somewhere familiar, my friend! ππ₯ππ
The pleasure of smoking π¬ is so well expressed one can visualize the scene
