Family is not an ideology – family is joy,
joy that jumps on all fours
and wags its tail.
Family is not a closed house – family is an open door,
you can come in and out whenever you want.
Family is not a group of passengers on the same tram,
family is a circle and a table,
a table full of exquisite food for the tongue
and for the eye,
a bright, sparkling eye that radiates love.

- Comment from author about the poem: We are Croatians living in Germany. We bought a Chihuahua in Croatia. Her name is Bubble and she quickly fell in love with us. This summer we took her on vacation to Croatia and brought her to her parents. They recognized each other and played happily. That's the inspiration for a song about the human family.
