A Cop

mylastwrites

He drew his gun

Then took aim

His life after this

Would not be the same

He took the job

To protect and serve

Part of himself

Is what he gave

The world he knew

Before shooting someone

Is a world for him

That's over and done

In a split second

He relied on his training

Now, starts the finger pointing

Along with the blaming

Lawyers and judges will analyze

If his decision making was right

But for now he lies in a hospital bed

Fighting for his life

Protect and serve. A difficult job often thankless. A brotherhood that is tighter than husband and wife. To put one's life on the line only to be judged for one's decisions. So easy to judge after the fact. Well written
