There was silence
With a cruel stare
Upon each wall
A violence bare
Led by ignorance
A drink in hand
The mob mentality
The flag to stand.
For something which
Once was proud
Now on each lampost
Threatening , loud
Prejudice and hate
Spread by those
With hidden agendas
Corruption to hold.
To lead with division
In order to rule
Their footsoldiers
Rioting fools
Who pay the price
In prison cells
While behind the lies
Politics blend.

Dear Norman, you have truly got to the core of a great problem, I no longer live in the UK but I am up to date with politics and social care and corruption and the Brexit ongoings. I would say I fly flag high yet rightly pointed out, there are those who fly it with hatred fascism and racism. 🌹 A very important subject Sir. 🌹
many thanks for the read my friend, yes these are worrying times in the UK, the blind hatred I see around me is very scary, it has overtures of a dark history, much appreciated comments
A powerful vocalisation, Norman 🙏🏻🕊️
thanking you, much appreciated read my friend
A poem of political manipulation to achieve personal goals. Power wielded and the masses molded to the party call. A powerful piece, unfortunately all too true. Well done Norman
much appreciated, thanking you
You are most welcome Norman
I love this write Norman. We think very much alike you and I. I wrote one with a similar message when this whole 'Raise The Colours' bollocks first started. It's title is The Hijacked Flag.
All stars for this one. You've hit the nail on the head.
- Syd 🍄
yes my friend, scary times, thanks for read always much appreciated
A stark, unflinching look at how easily pride can be twisted into division.
The rhythm carries a sense of marching inevitability, echoing the very mob mentality it critiques.
most kind, thanking you much appreciated
Good write N.
So you saw through the lies of someone at the bus stop who said to you 'There'll be a bus along in 2 minutes'. lol.
the liar, said no 7 was due lol
lol
well written
Thanking you, much appreciated read
What a strong and timely piece, Norman. Powerful people manufacture enemies, inflame the crowd, and remain safely removed when everything erupts. Meanwhile, their followers inherit the punishment and everyone else inherits the hatred. Brilliantly done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
very kind my friend, always very much appreciated, thanking you
Divide and rule is the key to power - politics is such a dirty game.
