The Treason of Peace

Tristan Robert Lange

Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Life is full of seasons. This is a season of transition for me, where I will be moving with my family to a new location. As such, with much logistics to consider, I am doing my best to keep up. Please know if I accidentally don't respond, it is not because I am ghosting or becoming distant. Once things settle after the move, I am sure life will return to some normalcy. In the meantime, and always:

Just as surely as Jesus taught,
Others bastardize his teachings.
Anyone can lash out violently;
Not many commit to non-violence.

Beyond institutions, peace is attainable;
Angry voices spit venomous attacks.
Evil will not win, we shall overcome.
Zero chance threats or prison will quake me.

  • Comment from author about the poem: An acrostic Scorched Sunday poem. Part of my Scorched Strays collection. This poem reflects on nonviolence as costly Christian witness and the irony of believers condemning those who dare to practice the teachings they profess.

    Loved the music of Joan Baez now a lost voice on the music scene but her influence can still be heard in other's songs. What ever happened to the peace movement of the sixties. Nicely written my friend and a fave
