He returns again,
and my heart falters, unsure.
He seeks closure,
yet my silence holds the answer.
The love I once craved
now flickers,
a flame I wish would fade.
Peace or happiness —
which weighs heavier?
With him, joy glimmers,
but peace slips through my grasp.
Do I teach him
to love in my way
or do I walk away?
Perhaps I already know…
I will follow the quiet rhythm of time,
and let it decide.

The recognition that mind and heart do not agree and what one knows is not good for oneself and will not change the heart says give it a try. Well written
