The Immortal and the Mortal

Tune: Woodlands

('Tell out my soul')

Psalm 90 v. 11-17

********

The days of our lives average seventy

Or if stronger they may reach to eighty

Yet they boast only labour and sorrow

We soon cut off and fly away, we know

Who knows the power of the Lord's anger?

And His wrath, once He causes it to stir?

We stand in awe, and sense His presence near

Humbly worshipping here in godly fear

So teach us to number our days, that we

Apply our hearts to wisdom, so gain be

Return, O Lord, how long? Have compassion

On us your servants, forgetting no one

Satisfy us early with your mercy

That we may rejoice all our days, glad be

Make us glad according unto the days

Of afflictions, dangers, and troublous ways

Let your works unto your servants appear

And your glory unto their children here

Let the beauty of the Lord our God be

Upon us, stablish our works steadfastly

Another fine hymn Orchi I particularly like this one asking what seems reasonable and right. Well done

I kind of liked this hymn poem Orchidee, it wasn't too heavy .. just wondering tho' is there something or somewhere in between immortal & mortal, something like a bridge, window, door or a portal .. maybe 😎👍

Thank you N. Some say Purgatory as an 'in-between' state but I don't believe in it myself. Unless you count my marriage to KP. lol.

Orchi, I was singing along quite happily until you started calculating our expiration dates! P. Solus has now hidden the calendar and ordered enough spinach to survive until 10,101,010. He's destined to make his lifespan metrical. I told him that's not how it works. He glugged anyway. 🤷‍♂️🤣 Powerful hymn, my friend...if slightly alarming! lol. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you T. We knew he'd be up to something! lol. He's living in binary years there.
