You can't help me!

Friendship

You can't help me!

The architecture of my days begins to fray,
Not with a crash, or a sudden, jagged break,
But in the quiet tolling of the gray,
And all the small foundations that I shake.

I am an edifice of dust and light,
Unspooling like a ribbon in the air,
Drifting through the reach of heavy night,
With no ground waiting for the souls who tear.

The seconds stretch like taffy, thin and slow,
Each movement is a ghost of what I was;
I watch the parts of me begin to go,
Unraveling by some forgotten cause.

My edges dull; the mortar turns to sand,
I lose the map of who I meant to be,
Slipping through the fingers of my hand,
A lingering, long-drawn-out catastrophe.

No thunderclap, no sharp and final sound,
Just gravity, reclaiming what it lent,
While I, in velvet silence, touch the ground,
A slow, deliberate, and vast descent.

This poem speaks of a personal entropy that they feel beyond the help of others to stay. Well written with good rhyme and flow it sends its sad message of demise.

    I can't help you
    Wish I could
    Your writing is phenomenal friendship
I always feel like I've learned something of YOU when I read
The:deliberate " in the last line really caught my eye.
    Emotional and brilliant

Your poem reminds us that we may feel fragile, but we are stronger than the despair it describes. The very fact that you could express such vulnerability with such beauty is proof that your humanity is enduring, not broken.

My friend, this hit me hard...the slow disintegration of a life and identity is somehow more terrifying than one sudden collapse. Absolutely devastating work. Keeping you in my prayers, dearest Friendship. If you ever need to talk, there's a Tristan who will listen! 👂🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

The slow but inevitable decline is well brought out in this poem. Great work 👌

No explosion—just a woman coming apart grain by grain, feeling every inch of the fall.
That’s the real terror: not the end, but the long, quiet collapse you can’t outrun.
