Messy

2781

Did it get a bit messy

I don't know, it was early in the morning.

I like to sleep, you know.

I was thrilled with the extra time!

And now that Spain have won...

Everything feels fine.

I should have a (very) small fortune!

But when I looked at the sums..

No payout.

Bums.

The extra time gamblers blues..

Have won.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Unbelievable. I put $14.50 on Spain to win. Thieving barstools called it a draw.\r\nI rang the help line and it sounded like a casino - this time the constant ping of bots trying to get me to gambling help bots!\r\nAll is wanted was my money):

The devil is in the details. A fine read and fun one too after the game

I'm very happy with the result too. There's nothing worse than when your bet is within 90 mins but it's decided in extra time.

    Nice write - Syd 🍄

So long as you confine yourself to a bet on the world soccer final (or whatever it might be called), you will do OK and not find yourself a member of GA.

An exposé of the gambling industry right there...

I have a bet once or twice a year for fun, but this stole my joy.
It appeared to me I was offered an each way bet - win/draw/win?
But as the saying goes - the devil is in the detail.
Sportsbets real name is probably legion!

Please don't mention that name; it doesn't even have to be an earworm, it is bounced at me every five minutes in the early evening, and it won't be the first time it has spoiled a good glass of vino as I've choked over it's further mention.

Valiantstar, this is hilarious! You take us from drowsy confidence to victorious celebration…then let the betting gods steal the whole morning. Somewhere, a bookmaker is smiling while you sing the extra-time gambler’s blues! Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
