Storms

Katdream

fading away
as clouds drift by swiftly
storms looming
storms already here
disguised in my bottle of scotch

leaves me numb
knocks me out
makes me sleep
makes me dream
makes me want to die

left it behind
in a moment of weakness
and never went back
I still grieve sometimes
storms still come and go
but now I see them for what they are

Here the bottle is treated as a friend that helps against the travails of the world and is left behind metaphoric for kicking the addiction and ironic that even friends may be a bad influence and need to be left. Very nicely written.
